Get Ready for GED2020!
The Global Exhibitions Day, GED is held annually on the first Wednesday of June. GED2020 is therefore set to be celebrated on 3 June 2020! What is GED? Started in 2016 and now in its fifth year, Global Exhibitions Day is a worldwide celebration of the exhibitions and events industry and everyone involved in it. It highlights the power of face-to-face exhibitions to boost business, jobs, innovation and local investment. The campaign focuses on messages that promote the value of exhibiting for companies, the key support role of exhibitions for the development of trade and internationalisation, and the stimulating role exhibitions play in driving innovation and competitiveness of companies. UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, facilitates GED by inviting everyone working in exhibitions and trade shows to take part in this campaign by organising and sharing initiatives that promote the industry. Who is it for GED is open to all who are interested in increasing the visibility of the Exhibition Industry regionally but also on a global scale. In the previous editions, this initiative mobilised thousands of industry professionals all over the world: Associations, exhibition organisers, venues, service providers, universities and individual professionals. How you can contribute UFI is inviting exhibition industry professionals all over the world to get involved and participate in this campaign to promote the industry. GED includes a broad mix of activities, both onsite and online, to promote exhibitions as business platforms as well as career and business development opportunities in the industry. Events and activities are arranged by many of the international and national organisers, by venues, by service providers, and also by national and regional associations. Your projects and activities can be registered in the Online Reporting Tool. Please note, only registered activities and projects in the GED Project and Activity Tool are eligible for the Exhibition World/ UFI GED Awards Competition. The GED2020 toolkit with information on GED, how to get involved and visuals, images and documents to download, will be available from 24 February 2020.
